This Privacy Policy explains how the DIZONLI mobile application uses, shares, and protects your information, in accordance with the regulations in force in Benin (Law No. 2017-20 on the Digital Code in the Republic of Benin) and international standards. We attach great importance to the protection of your privacy and the security of your health data.

By using the DIZONLI app, you agree to the terms of this policy.

2. THE DATA WE COLLECT

To provide you with our pedometer, gamification, and community services, we collect the following types of data

2.1. Identification Data

  • First and last names.
  • Email address.
  • Profile photo (optional).
  • Demographic information: City; Country; Date of birth (optional).
  • Password (encrypted)

2.2. Health and Physical Activity Data

DIZONLI is an app that promotes physical activity. We collect:

  • The number of steps (via the phone’s sensors).
  • The distance traveled.
  • Calories burned (estimate).
  • Your performance history (daily, weekly, monthly).

2.3. Social Data

  • Likes on your shared performances.
  • Group membership (family, friends, companies).
  • Badges earned.

3. USE OF THIRD-PARTY SERVICES (GOOGLE FIT & APPLE HEALTHKIT)

To ensure accurate step counting without draining your battery, DIZONLI may request access to:

  • Google Fit (Android): We only read step and activity data.
  • Apple HealthKit (iOS): We only read step and distance data.

Privacy Commitment: Health data collected via Google Fit and HealthKit is never sold to third parties or used for advertising purposes. It is used solely to display your progress.

4. WHY DO WE USE YOUR DATA?

Your data is used for the following purposes:

  1. Service operation: Display your step counter and progress charts.
  2. Gamification & Rankings: Calculate your position in the rankings (Friends, Companies, Cities) and award your badges.
  3. Notifications: Send you encouragement, activity reports, and alerts.
  4. Institutional Framework (B2B): Allow your company or department to see the overall ranking of the group (team cohesion).
  5. Technical Improvement: Fix bugs and analyze overall usage statistics.

5. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE

We do not sell your personal data. It may only be shared in the following cases:

  • With other users: Your name, photo, number of steps, and badges are visible to members of your groups and on public leaderboards.
  • With your institution (B2B cases): If you join a “Company” or “Ministry” group, the administrators of that group can see your name and total number of steps for the purposes of the internal challenge.
  • Service providers: Cloud hosting, sending notifications solely for the technical execution of the service.
  • Legal obligation: If required by the competent Beninese authorities.

6. DATA SECURITY

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures (encryption, secure authentication) to protect your data from unauthorized access, modification, or loss.

7. YOUR RIGHTS (BENIN APDP COMPLIANCE)

In accordance with the Digital Code in Benin, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access: See what data we have about you.
  • Right of rectification: Correct inaccurate information via your profile.
  • Right to erasure: Request the complete deletion of your account and data (“Right to be forgotten”). This option is available directly in the application and is an irreversible action.
  • Right to object: Refuse certain uses (e.g., disable notifications).

8. COOKIES AND TRACKERS

The application uses standard tracking technologies (cookies, mobile identifiers) to remember your login preferences and analyze the application’s performance.

9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the application or the law. You will be notified of any major changes via a notification in the application.
